|Animal ID: 201801002Patrick (male)|
Patrick is a 77 pound 9 yr old Bull dog possibly mixed with Boston terrier. Recently he lost his human after 4 yrs of being totally spoiled and loved more than any dog could possibly be loved. He is very well behaved and knows several commands. His favorites things to do is sit and ride quietly in the front seat next to you or even in the back seat. He is extremely well behaved in the house too. He is great with kids of all ages and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He was good with cats prior to be adopted 4 yrs ago. Patrick did test positive for heart worm so due to his age and the fact that he was very light positive, and microphilaria negative, we opted for the slow kill. This means he will get a treatment of Advantage Multi (will be supplied to adopter) once every two weeks for 6 months. You couldn't ask for a better dog than Patrick. He deserves to go to a home where he will be able to live out the rest of his life being spoiled and loved like he is use to. To adopt Partrick please go to www.ffosk9resq.org for the application to adopt. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 17-12-21-00397Rudy (female)|
Rudy is a Boxer/ Boston terrier mix, otherwise known as a mini Boxer! That is approximately 8 years old and weighs 35 lbs. She has had one of the hardest lives of any of the rescues we have seen but is by far one of the sweetest. She was found starving, had old injuries from being hit by a car, was pregnant, heartworm positive, and was full of parasites. She has spent lots of time at the vet and has been spayed (puppies were not viable and she was not going to make it without an emergency C-section), fully vaccinated and dewormed. She is currently getting over bronchitis and if she is deemed well enough will be treated for heartworms. This sweet old girl needs a quite loving place to call her own after her rough start. She is fine with cats and certain dogs and has done very well with young kids. Rudy's adoption fee is $150. (Less)

She was admitted to the shelter after being hit by a car. She was tangled up in the car's grill and was stuck for about 20 miles. She is a total lap dog and would love nothing more than to sit and watch TV quietly in your lap. She is Up To Date on all shots . Bootsie weighs 26 pounds. Bootsie is about 10 yrs old but has the heart and soul of a pup. She loves to play fetch with you and will bring what ever you throw for her back to you for more and its great exercise for both Bootsie and her human. Bootsie is Heart Worm negative, and on her monthly preventatives for Heart Worm, Fleas and Ticks. Bootsie will go in a crate and sleep but she much prefers to be with her humans. She is leash trained and rides well in a car. OUT OF STATE adoptions are possible. If you are working with For The Love Of Dogs/Vermont Dog Rescue, the additional fee is $200 to cover transportation costs and the health certificate, which is required to cross state lines. Transport to other areas is dependent on location, fees, and availability of independent transport services. You are always welcome to pick up your new family member. We are a home based, not for profit organization in Northeast Alabama that helps place forgotten and unwanted pets in forever homes. We are an all volunteer, 501(c)3 organization. We rescue pets from high kill shelters, prior to being euthanized, as well as strays and unwanted pets. We do not adopt to 'outside only' homes nor do we adopt to anyone who wishes to crop, dock, or do any other alterations except the spaying and neutering of their pets. All pets are completely vetted, up to date on all vaccines, and given rabies certificates. (Less)

Boston Terrier Dogs can make good pets in Alabama if they match your IifestyIe. Boston Terriers, or Boston Bulls, are small, intelligent dogs. Boston Terriers are gentle and sensitive but can be very playful and rambunctious. Boston Terriers are easy to train since they like to learn and want to please their masters; however, they can be difficult to housebreak. Boston Terriers are exceptionally good with children and the elderly. Boston Terriers do not bark without good reason. Boston Terriers can live in an apartment or in the country, but they are sensitive to extremely hot or cold weather.
