Rescue Me ID: 14-08-24-00297Tobie (male)

Boston Terrier Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

We have had Tobie with us since he was four months old. The majority of the time we have had him we had another dog and they got along very well. We now have two small children and unfortunately do not have the time or room that Tobie needs. His only draw back is that he does howl/cry when left alone. Can be a problem if you live in an apartment, my neighbors have complained in the past. Other than that he is a healthy and friendly boy. He is house trained and will only have accidents if he does not have access to a backyard or is walked.

Tilly is a beautiful purebred Boston Terrier girl looking for a new forever home! She was raised by the same family since she was a puppy. Although they love her very much, and will be devastated when she goes, Tilly is not getting along well with their Chihuahua and other Boston girl. Tilly is a very friendly, energetic and happy girl! She loves to run and play in the yard, sleeps in bed with their little girl, and naps in the sun on her doggie bed. Tilly is extremely affectionate and loving! She is friendly to everyone she meets, except the family's other dogs. She loves all people, including kids and new friends coming to the house for ... (Read More)the first time.     What a beautiful young thing Miss Rhea is, and what a story she's got to tell. Rhea was found in a family's backyard when they came home from a two week vacation. Problem is, the family didn't own a dog! Not only did they find Rhea, but they found her days-old puppies too. Apparently, Rhea had been tossed over their fence when they were not there. Rhea and her two surviving pups were then brought to a shelter and we were happy to take them in. What a joy they have been! Rhea weighs about 30 pounds and is only around nine months old herself, a puppy having puppies, but she is a wonderful mama. She is full of joy and loves to chase a ... (Read More)ball (most of the time she brings it back). We know she is part Labrador Retriever, and the jury is still out on her mix - she is very tiny. We believe there is some Boston Terrier in there (her small stature, coloring, different voice are a few hints, to say the least), and probably a touch of Pit. Whatever her true mix, she is a sweet sweet soul that will make a great family dog. Rhea does great on a leash and is crate and house trained. She loves other dogs of all sizes and is good around children though she might be a little too energetic for a small child. She is good around our cat but if it ran she might chase it for the fun of it. Rhea has just a little over one week left of nursing her pups before she can go to her new home but we are taking applications now from those interested in adopting her. All potential adopters are expected to complete an application and provide pictures of their yard, patio, and/or balcony making sure we can see the fence line and/or railing. The application can be completed and submitted from our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - and is found under Resources. Applications will be reviewed for approval before setting an appointment to come meet and possibly adopt the dog of interest. In addition, those who live in a rental property are expected to provide proof that they are allowed to have a dog where they live. Each of our rescued dogs has been de-wormed if necessary, de-flea'd (with topical treatment if old enough, and by medicated bath if too young), spayed/neutered, microchipped, is up to date on shots, and has been fully examined by a veterinarian. In addition, each adopted dog comes with a starter baggie of the food it has been eating, a few treats for training purposes, a rawhide chew, a lead and collar, and a folder containing pertinent records. Boston Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet BOUNCE (Special Needs) -- SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ONLY -- Heehee I'm Bounce! Have you ever seen such a happy girl? I have quite a smile =) I'm just a pup who looks like a Staffie Boston mix and all terrier! I'm only about a year and a half and 40 lbs of sweetness. My soft white coat has big round blue patches, and I have a blue teardrop at the corner of my left eye. My foster mom says my eyes are mesmerizing, whatever that is. Check out my pics and decide for yourself! The vet said I had distemper when I was a puppy - a deadly virus that could have been prevented with a $7 vaccine. Here's an informative article on distemper: ... (Read More)http://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&A=1733 I'm a strong girl and I survived the first part, so then the virus attacked my neurological system. I survived that too :) I'm a playful terrier pup like any other, except for a muscle tremor that makes me bounce! I'm taking a heart medication (Mexiletine) 3 times a day (every 8 hours) to help calm my tremor, and it works really well. My front ankles have taken the brunt of my constant movement but the meds calm it down to just a slight twitch, and with the addition of joint supplements and good nutrition, I'm feeling pretty good now! I love to go for short walks, and I really love to play with my foster sisters. I'm great with everyone, cats included, and I'm the biggest kissy face you'll ever meet. Car rides are cool 'cuz I like to go places, and I'm house broken and crate trained too. I know my foster parents love me very muchly. They say I'm easy to take care of. I snort a bit and sometimes use my bowling ball head like a battering ram. They think it's pretty funny :) When the Rescue Lady first took me out of the shelter, I had all kinds of parasites, worms and mange. I'm all better now, and even though I love my foster parents to pieces, I'm ready to find my Forever Family. I'm spayed, current on vaccines, microchipped and ready to brighten your life. The Rescue Lady is on the lookout for responsible pet guardians to be mine forever. Application, adoption fee, home visit and contract will be required. Los Angeles, Orange or San Diego Counties. To meet me, please email The Rescue Lady at INFO@WAGGINGDOG.ORG. I am being fostered in SAN DIEGO - CARLSBAD. --- To view additional photos and pup-dates on Bounce, please visit her on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.644791442212027.1073741854.294289027262272&type=3 ***UPDATE: 7/5/14 Bounce has an adoption pending and is now in a Foster-To-Adopt (FTA) period with a potential adopter. During this period the adopter and dog have a chance to try each other out and make sure this is a perfect match. If things don't work out, the Dog will return to the rescue and be able to meet with other adopters. Otherwise, the adopter can finalize the adoption at the end of the FTA period or any time during, at which time our dog listing will be removed. Meanwhile, we are still accepting applications and encourage you to contact us as soon as possible if you are interested in giving this dog a loving home. ***UPDATE: 7/5/14 Bounce has an adoption pending and is now in a Foster-To-Adopt (FTA) period with a potential adopter. lnteresting Boston Terrier Trivia Low-Cost California Spay & Neuter Clinics
Boston Terriers are bred down in size from pit bulls and other fighting dogs, but modern varieties are not very aggressive. The Boston Terrier was the first pure American breed to be recognized by the American Kennel Club. Boston Terriers are members of the Brachycephalic breeds. Brachycephalic comes from Greek roots meaning short head.
