Rescue Me ID: 17-05-12-00072Marley (male)

Boston Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Marley is available for foster or adoption! We are a foster-based rescue and always looking for fosters. Marley is currently fostered in Sarasota. Marley is a fun, happy young low rider who is fairly calm and loves to cuddle. He is between 1-2 years old and around 20 lbs. We think he is a Boston Terrier mix with perhaps some basset hound or corgi in there. He is an absolute doll and everyone who meets him seems to fall in love. He is fairly quiet and cuddly around people, but he does love to run and play with his dog friends! We suspect he would make a great family dog. Marley does have some fear of new people, especially men, but he gets ... (Read More)over it fairly quickly once he learns you are not a threat, and becomes your snuggle buddy! Because of this he may be shy at first if you meet him. Marley has a luxating patella on his back left leg, which does not slow him down or cause him any pain. With a moderately active home he should be just fine, as our orthopedic specialist did not recommend surgery or other corrective measures. Backyard play and moderate walks would be wonderful for him, as well as swimming! We would love to see him go to a home with a pool. Marley is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and preventives, heartworm negative and microchipped. (Less)

lnteresting Boston Terrier Trivia Low-Cost Florida Spay & Neuter Clinics
Boston Terriers are bred down in size from pit bulls and other fighting dogs, but modern varieties are not very aggressive. The Boston Terrier was the first pure American breed to be recognized by the American Kennel Club. Boston Terriers are members of the Brachycephalic breeds. Brachycephalic comes from Greek roots meaning short head. Boston Terriers are descended from English Bulldogs crossed with terriers. Boston Terriers were first bred by Robert C. Hooper of Boston.
