Rescue Me ID: 15-04-24-00560Moose (male)
Three months ago, Moose was struck by a car in Sautee GA, shattering his leg as the impact hurled his little body onto the shoulder of the road. He was in the hands of Animal Control and destined for euthanasia when Smithgall Humane Society assumed responsibility for him. After 3 months of weekly veterinary care and close confinement at the shelter, it was concluded that the bone was unable to heal. Moose had surgery on Monday, 20 April to amputate his leg. He had already grown accustomed to navigating on 3 legs so his adjustment to being a without one leg is going well. Medications are controlling pain, inflammation and infection. He is very brave and in great need of cuddles and kisses. The costs of trying to save his leg and the subsequent amputation have put another strain on a budget trying to care for a multitude of injured and ill animals that have come through our doors. Please support upcoming fund raisers and if possible, consider organizing a fundraiser for Moose and his shelter buddies. And finally, Moose is going to need a very special person(s) to provide a secure home, keep him safe and offer him a lifetime of love. Moose is a 4 year old Boston Terrier mix who will be very energetic when restored to full health. He will do best as the sole pet of the household. There is a video at the facebook link below: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Charles-Smithgall-Humane-Society-and-Adoption-Center/548822128495391 Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a 'No kill' shelter which provides quality care, spay/neuter-all vaccines-deworming-vet exam-standard disease testing and for dogs-monthly prevention heart worm treatment. 2 females that need a good home. Would love for them to stay together! I just lost my job and can no longer keep the dogs. Both are very sweet and I would like them to go to a loving family. I am so heartbroken, but I really need help.

Rescue Me ID: 15-01-19-00698Trixie (female)
Trixie was a stray that was brought to a local vet. She is a bundle of energy. She would be the perfect girl for an active family. She is eager to please. The Vet said she is a Boston Terrier mix but is a little larger than a Boston Terrier in size.
Rescue Me ID: 14-12-11-00045Hazel (female)
Meet Hazel, she's a 1 year old Parson JRT/Boston terrier mix...fully vetted. Hazel needs an adult only home and needs to be an only child, no kids or other dogs. Hazel is a sweetheart but is protective of her food dish and bones. She's not aggressive and can be with other dogs, just not a fan of sharing...she's great with people. Because of her issues, feel adult only home appropriate. Special adoption fee $100. All of our animals are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, heartworm tested and treated if necessary. Vet references and a home inspection prior to adoption are required. Adoption fee applies. For questions, please email email@example.com or submit an adoption application on our RUFF RESCUE website, www.ruffdogrescue.com (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-11-26-00255Prissy (female)
Prissy is a 1 year to 1 1/2 year mixed breed dog. She came wandering up on our doorstep and we do not know how long she has been homeless. She has a very sweet and silly disposition, but she can be shy at times. She is submissive to other dogs, but will play if they allow her to (she loves to play with our big Lab as well as our Min Pin). She loves being out doors but also longs to be a 25 pound lap dog. She is kennel trained and sleeps in her kennel all night. She still fears a lease but she is getting better. If you would like to adopt Prissy, please go to brantleyanimalrescuecoalition.weebly.com and fill out an adoption application.

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-20-00026Jo Jo (female)
Jojo is s spunky little girl with a lot of play in her. She was rescued with her 7 puppies from a rural GA shelter and while all of her babies have found their homes, Jojo is patiently waiting for hers.... Jojo would love a fenced backyard and a bucket full of tennis balls to chase all day. She plays really well with her friend, Bandit, but she seems to be a little selective about her other playmates. Jojo is crate-trained and is a small thing at 30 lbs--perfect for any size home :) All of our animals are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, heartworm tested and treated if necessary. Vet references and a home inspection prior to adoption are required. Adoption fee applies. Boston Terriers are gentle and sensitive but can be very playful and rambunctious. Boston Terriers are easy to train since they like to learn and want to please their masters; however, they can be difficult to housebreak. Boston Terriers are exceptionally good with children and the elderly. Boston Terriers do not bark without good reason. Boston Terriers can live in an apartment or in the country, but they are sensitive to extremely hot or cold weather.
