Rescue Me ID: 17-01-09-00389Buddy (male)

Boston Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Buddy spends 22 hours a day inside a run looking out at the world and waiting for the 2 hours of freedom in the play yards if weather is good. This has been his world for 2 1/2 years. Buddy is sponsored with a subsidized fee of $25. Buddy is 3 years old and is of medium sized build. Very, very photogenic. With his human friends he would like to be a lap dog! He loves being out and walking/hiking/playing. Happy to go joy riding in a car. He is afraid of cats-very afraid. He loves pizza with a preference for the ones from Papa Johns. He weighs 45 lbs. Buddy takes daily medication to keep allergies in control that would otherwise cause skin ... (Read More)and ear issues. The meds are about $100 a month which has been a primary reason for people to overlook him as their companion. One can see from Buddy's 4 videos on the shelter Facebook page that he is funny, playful, smart and loves to be with people. Go to VIDEOS Album and look for the 4 with his name. He mostly ignores other dogs though his favorite shelter playmate is Chili a big mastiff mix girl. He is people focused and is happiest when in their company. Though he has been seen to be good with the children of a volunteer we are unsure how he would do in a home with children and a lot of stimulus. Buddy has a sponsor who has subsidized his fee to $25. We do adopt out of state but all approved adopters must come to the shelter to meet their chosen dog/cat and provide the transport to their new home. We do not ship/transport our residents. All adopters must agree to return any animal adopted from us if for any reason they can no longer care for that animal under the expectations agreed upon at the time of adoption. To submit an application and read about our adoption procedure, go to: https://www.facebook.com/smithgallhumanesociety/photos/a.984873858223547.1073741865.548822128495391/1271213192922944/?type=3&theater .
