Hi. My name is Copper. It used to be Brownie but that name lacked pizzazz and anyway, I am not brown. My coat is a beautiful reddish gold color. I am a 3 year old, neutered male Chihuahua/Boston Terrier mix who weighs in at about 11 pounds. I have a very cute underbite. I love the ladies and as any proper gentleman should, I feel it is my duty to protect my woman from harm. This means that I may scrutinize your husband or male friends to make sure they will treat you right. Once I know the guys in your life will do you no harm, I will let down my guard and make friends. It won't take long. Just a little time and space at first and we can get to trust each other. My hobbies include snuggling on the couch, rolling in the grass, going for walks and chewing on antlers or rawhide bones. I am quiet in the house and will go in the crate on my own to relax when my foster mom is busy. I don't really like to be separated from my family, especially when I know you are home. If you close me in the crate, I may cry softly at first. I would much rather sleep curled up with a warm body than alone in my crate. I really am a very sweet fellow. Still new to my foster home, I have had a few accidents. With regular potty breaks outside, I should do great. I never have accidents in my crate. I just sometimes forget to let you know I need to go. I am up to date on all vaccinations, microchipped and tested negative for Heartworm and Lyme Disease. I am ready to find a great family. Could that be you? "Like" Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook! NOTE: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet. (Less)
