Rescue Me ID: 15-07-27-00259Purdue (male)

Boston Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Purdue is an approx. 5 year old brindle Bugg (boston terrier x pug cross), approx. 30 lbs, who will be available for adoption once he is healed from his neuter and we get his diarrhea resolved. Like all brindle bugs we've met he is a true gentleman and very gentle in temperament. He is calm, sweet, gives kisses, house trained (though does occasionally mark still) and comes with his very own humpy pillow. He is more of a sleeper and a cuddler than a player or a doer. He gets along with all my other dogs but seems to prefer the company of humans so I think he would be equally happy as an only dog. If you are interested in Purdue please visit ... Rescue Me ID: 15-06-03-00364Maddy Max (male)

Boston Terrier    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Max is a sweet heart. He came from a very loving home that had him since he was a pup. He grew up in the country with a senior citizen couple. When the husband died of cancer two years ago, his mom moved to an apartment with Max. She is becoming more progressively ill, so she surrendered him with a heavy heart to ODBTR. We would like it if Max's adoptive family would send photos of Max or little updates to us so we can pass them on to Max's former mom or that they would contact her and up date her on Max now and then. Max turned 6 on April 18th 2015. Max is in great health. Max came to us with cherry eye (prolapsed third eyelid). Max ... (Read More)had surgery to repair this and a dental cleaning. Just last week, the cherry eye came back. We recommend you get a second opinion before considering another surgery and ODBTR will not pay for another surgery. When this surgery is not successful long term it's normally better to leave the cherry eye alone. As long as his eyes are kept clean he should not have any problems. ODBTR does not support removal of the third eyelid which would prevent his eye from producing tears and would require a life-long commitment to daily eye drops. Max must be re-checked for heartworms in September 2015 since he was never on heartworm preventative before he came to us. He did test negative for heart worms but we need to be sue. The cost of this recheck has been deducted from Max's adoption fee. Max was shy and timid and scared of most everything when he came to us. Since he joined his foster pack in late March, he has blossomed into a fun loving, energetic, outgoing dog. He is always happy! Max LOVES to go for long walks, fetch toys and balls, and ride in the car. I've never let him run free without a leash other than in my fenced yard. He has never slipped out of my front door and run away so I don't think he would do it. I think he would probably love going to a dog park. He loves young kids and teenagers. Max talks a lot. He has his own special language. His foster mom Lynda finds it adorable! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-06-03-00355Jimmy John (male)

Boston Terrier    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Jimmy John is a pure joy. He has yet to meet any person he does not like. He gets along well with all other animals, including the pet duck at his foster house. He loves his treats and learns new things very quickly. Despite having cataracts, Jimmy John is a great walker and readily explores the outdoors. He is a little more hesitant indoors on hard floors, but once he gets the lay of the house he has no issues getting around. Jimmy John wants nothing more than a daily walk and a lap to sit on, along with a human that lets him sleep under the covers. He would prefer someone home more often than not as he used to live with an older ... (Read More)woman and spent a lot of time snuggling. He is potty trained, but gets confused in new places, so someone that is patient about helping him find the door and who will set a regular potty schedule will help him adapt more quickly. This boy never needs a voice raised to him and wants so hard to please. It took him a few weeks to stop grieving over the loss of his lady (he had lived with her until she entered a nursing home), but he has now adapted well and is waiting for a home of his own. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-06-03-00351Jessy (male)

Boston Terrier    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Jessy is one sweet boy. He's 8 years old but I think he looks older in the photos than he does in person. Jessy is not thrilled with having his photo taken and is much more adorable than he looks in the last photos. He's a dark brindle and has some grey but nowhere near as much as it looks like in these photos. Jessy came to us when his person asked her vet if she would help rehome her three dogs. We got Jessy and other rescues got his non bonded furry brothers. His person had to move into an assisted living. Jessy is wonderful with other dogs. He will chase our cats but has never tried to harm them. Two of our cats like to be chased or take ... (Read More)great delight in making some of the dogs here chase them. He's had a few chances to grab one of the cats and each time he just barks at them. I would not trust him loose with cats if I were not home. We have baby gates so the cats can escape the dogs if they choose too. Jessy is not an alpha and will get along in any home as long as the dogs there are dog friendly. Jessy barks when someone comes to the door but is not barky. He loves to give a kiss now and then but is not obsessed with kissing people. His favorite spot is on the back of our sofa or laying atop every pillow he can find and pile up. Jessy is crate trained but he does not need to be crated. He likes toys but has no obsessions with toys. He might really love stuffed toys but we rarely have them as our Frank founded 'Boston's for Fluffacide'.Jessy is happy to lay next to someone and loves my husband as much as he does me. Jessy is healthy, and in addition to our normal vetting he's had a dental cleaning. Jessy will be happy as an only dog but he loves other dogs and will also be happy as part of a mellow pack. (Less)

Boston Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Poor sweet Belle. She was found chained in a back yard and left for dead with her 9 puppies, 2 of which had already died from exposure and neglect. After her remaining 5 puppies were adopted out, Belle thought she found her forever home too. Sadly, she was found dumped at a shelter only a few months later in terrible condition, with a horribly painful skin infection, open sores, and missing nearly all her fur. This poor girl has been through so much already in her short little life and just needs a place to call her own. She is a Boston terrier/Pit mix. She is extremely lovey dovey with people and loves to cuddle and give kisses. She ... (Read More)tends to be unpredictable with other dogs and should be the only dog in the house. Rescue Me ID: 15-02-08-00340Ebony (female)

Boston Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

Ebony was found as a stray and taken to a rural high-kill shelter in SC. She is about 1 year old and weighs 35 lbs. This girl is just adorable, happy, and loves attention. She loves people and is good other with dogs. Ebony would do best with another high energy dog to be her playmate or someone active who will commit to giving her daily vigorous exercise. She would appreciate the finer things in life-a soft bed, air conditioning, toys of her own, and someone to love. But who could blame her after being stuck in an outdoors shelter for months. We do not know how much training she has received. So she might need training in house ... (Read More)manners, leash walking, and basic obedience. Since she was not kept on monthly preventatives, she has tested positive for heartworms. She will receive treatment and will soon be good as new. Ebony will be a great companion for some lucky person or family. Can you provide Ebony with a caring home? If you do, she will reward you with memorable moments and years of love. Please apply to adopt Ebony today. (Less)

Boston Terrier    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Lenny is an adult Boston Terrier. We estimate his age at about 8. He may be younger but we doubt he's older. Lenny is a playful darling. He's amazing with any person no matter their age. He's well trained in many fun ways. He's house trained which is always good. He sit's, stay's, understands No. He sits pretty and shakes paws. Lenny plays catch, and fetch. He is a clown. He's always ready to play but is not hyper. He knows how to settle and loves a good cuddle. Lenny is good with cats that don't run or act like prey. Even then he won't hurt them but they might hurt him. Lenny is crate trained. He's not destructive unless you give him a toy ... (Read More)then he's pretty hard on stuffed animals and chews. He loves balls best of all. Lenny is good with other dogs but is an alpha. He's great with dogs in dog parks or on walks, but he will be happiest being the only dog in his house.
