Animal ID: Chester2016Chester (male)

Boston Terrier Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected

Chester came to ODBTR as a severely emaciated stray. He had a severe corneal ulcer that has now healed but with a scar. He has progressed beautifully from being unable to walk to playing fetch with his favorite toys. Chester has some mobility issues as it is believed he has a spinal cord injury. He can walk and 'bunny hop run' but knuckles a lot on one back leg and cannot sit or climb stairs. Chester wears socks with rubber soles all the time. With his lack of sensation and control, it is extremely hard for him to walk on smooth surfaces like hardwood or tile. They give him traction. He went to rehab for 14 sessions (water threadmill and ... (Read More)other exercises) to see if he could rebuild some muscle. He made as much progress as possible. Chester LOVES to chew, play fetch and tug. He knows the command 'drop' so you can throw it again (and again!). He's also learning the command 'enough' to signal fetch time is over. He is a very mellow fellow who spends his days napping under his foster mom's desk and evenings in front of the tv chewing on his toys and/or fetching. Chester has some incontinence issues due to his injury but they are manageable. Chester would do well with just about any family. He would love to have a human who will play with him. Chester has been neutered and is utd on all his shots. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-06-29-00131Hobbs (male)

Boston Terrier    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hobbs is 17 pounds of adorable! He's about 7, we're not positive. He is a strong personality who needs people that will lead him in calm firm voices. Hobbs wants to please and will do anything to make you happy. He's good with dog savvy kids who won't be rough with him. He's good with dogs that are near his size or smaller. He's challenged by large dogs and gets defensive if they are reactive. Hobbs hasn't been tested with cats. From Hobbs foster mom: He's incredibly obedient and wants to please. He comes immediately when called and sits waiting for orders. He learned the routine and rules of our home within a couple of days and sticks to ... (Read More)them. Hobbs is perfectly house trained. He asks to go out very clearly and holds it when you're not home. Never had a single accident. He walks nicely on the leash. He only barks to let everyone know someone is here. Once he sees that you are okay with the visitor, his work is done. He's very friendly to guests after the thumbs up from his owner. He should never be managed too forcefully. He's eager to please and will follow commands but he has a line that, once he feels you have crossed, will make him challenge his handler. This is likely due to past abuse. He's prepared to defend himself. A calm, firm tone is all that is needed to keep Hobbs calm and cooperative. If his handler sounds too mean or angry, Hobbs loses confidence. Hobbs is pretty entertaining, friendly and smart. He sings whenever he hears you sing, or whistle. He loves to play fetch, brings the ball (or soft toy) back and gives it over. He never tires of it. He wiggles his entire back end when he's happy. When he greets, he doesn't jump. If he wants affection, he sits politely in front of you, puts his ears down and "asks". Other than some old injuries to his eyes Hobbs is very healthy. He's been seen by an eye vet and other than healed scratches his eyes are healthy. He sees well but not perfectly. He has a bit of hearing loss from long untreated ear infections. Hobbs is lively, loving and would thrive as an only dog or with non alpha dogs. We have video of Hobbs singing but I can't get it to load. I'm going to try to load it on or website. Pease visit our website for to submit an application for Hobbs or any of our adorable adoptable Boston's. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-05-10-00456Angie (female)

Boston Terrier    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Angie is an adorable 7 year old AKC registered darling. She loves people. She's good with other dogs but can be a bit bossy. She's not ugly about it and does well with my seriously alpha girl. Angie will chase cats. She doesn't hurt them but she loves to chase them and will be happier without cats. This is a horrible photo of Angie. It was taken while she was nursing puppies. I've got another but it's not good of her face. She's beautiful in person. Angie is just under 20 pounds and prances when she walks. She's spayed and tucked up nicely now. She'll always have a little tummy swing from her 3 litters of puppies. Angie is quiet and rarely ... (Read More)barks except when playing or if someone comes to the door. She loves to snuggle and give kisses. She's not obsessive about kisses. She's very sweet. Angie is house and paper trained. She's crate trained but isn't destructive at all. She loves walks and car rides. She hasn't lived with children but her mellow temperament and love of people make me believe she'd do well with dog savvy children. Angie is microchipped, up to date on shots, heartworm negative and on prevention. She's just missing a person or family of her own. Please visit for an application. (Less)
